JetBee is based on a "windows-like" interface most people are acustomed to. Drag and drop files in directories, contacts in groups, events in weeks... Launch applications from the dock or quickstart menus... JetBee is a web platform that works the way your PC does. The learning curve is pretty fast and you will quickly get familiar with JetBee's intuitive interface. |
what can I do with JetBee?

JetBee offers you a full set of online, SaaS, office and communication applications. You can access your files, publish them with rights in collaborative workspaces others have invited you to, or that you created, plan events and meetings on shared calendars, comment content in contextual forums... In few words: you can collaborate with others without any IT infrastructure nor dedicated network, securely! |
how to create an account?

Click "Create your free account" on the www.jetbee.com homepage and fill in the form. You will be notified by email to activate your account. |
what are the commercial versions adding?
|
There are several packages available in JetBee. Some (JetBee Busy) are for individuals who need to share content on a case by case basis with others, and keep organized when on the road. Other are for team working, organizations and corporations (JetBee Hive, Corporate, Education, Box), to securely manage collaborative workspaces and team content and activities. Eventually, JetBee Open is for developers who want to add job oriented features. |
how to get started?

Did you create your free account first? Input your "username" and "password" in the jetbee.com homepage and click the red right square. Your default JetBee webtop is loaded. Take some time to discover each feature of JetBee: customize your personal workspace in the "Preferences" menu, upload files and pictures in your workspace using the "Explorer", select one of your pictures as a wallpaper... |
how to add a file/folder?

Click the "Explorer" icon (in the dock or in the quickstart menu next to the start button down-left). Go into the proper folder. Click the "Upload Files" icon in the "Explorer" bar and "Add files" to the queue list. Click "Start upload". |
how to share a file?
|
Right click the file or folder you want to share and select the contact (she/he must be created before in the "Contact Manager"). Set up the rights you grant the recipient(s) with. Click "Ok". Your recipient(s) will be notified visually on their JetBee workspace and by email. |
how to create a contact?
|
Click the "Contact Manager" icon and add a contact. |
how to add an event?
|
Click the "Calendar" icon and drag and drop your mouse on the area that corresponds to the event duration. Fill in the fields of the pop up window and click "Ok". |
how to share an event?
|
Right click on the event and follow the same procedure as for sharing a file. |
how to check co-workers availability?
|
Just add their names in your list of calendars using the "Setting" menu in the "Calendar". Check their names and visualize their - consolidated - occupied areas. Empty spaces are available dates and times for you to set a group meeting. |
how to start a forum?

Just click the widget menu or right click a file and click "Comment". |
how to check/change rights or refuse/accept shares?
|
Just click the widget menu (i) or click the "Rights Manager" icon, or click the Share View bar (upper left corner). You can sort shares by columns and interactively changes rights on content you shared with others or refuse/accept shares from others. |
how to search content?
|
JetBee embeds a plain text indexation engine that allow you to search any keyword from the search bar (minimum 4 characters). Select the result you want to access from the search results and you will be redirected to its location. |
What are the widgets for?
|
Widgets are alternative communication tools to avoid spamming emails around. Each of them has a role: - stickers for immediate communication (you can share them with recipient(s) and they immediately see them on their JetBee webtop; - RSS readers can point at web sites or collaborative workspaces feeds; - SmartTaks are intended to ease team collaboration by quickly creating and sharing a list of tasks with a group or co-workers. |
how to create and share a smartTask?
|
Click the widget icon in the actions menu or right click an empty space in your webtop. Use the (text edition) icon to enter the name of the smartTask and "+" to add a new task. Fly your mouse over the task and a new menu appears to customize the task. Repeat the operation for other tasks. Once finished, click on the share icon in the SmartTask menu (appears when flying over the widget) and proceed as usual for sharing content. NB: when people complete their task and check the proper box, everyone who was shared the widget sees the update and the achievement % progresses. |
how to send emails?
|
Click the"Webmail" icon. You access your username@jetbee.com mailbox. You can create other identities to send emails from this mailbox under your corporate identity. All attached emails you receive at this address are automatically stored in the "Explorer/My mail attachements" and indexed, so that you can search their content! |
can I configure my own corporate mailbox on JetBee?
|
No. The JetBee Webmail application gives you access to your username@jetbee.com mailbox only. But you can set a rule in your Outlook/Lotus... messaging software, to forward all incoming messages to username@jetbee.com. All attachements will then be searchable in JetBee. To send email with your corporate identity, just create the identity in JetBee webmail and select it when sending a message from JetBee. |
what is a JetBee Hive/Group?
|
We are all, most of the time, as busy as a bee! And creating a hive means setting up a collaborative environment for a dedicated team or project. The creator of the hive is the administrator, and can easily invite users to join the hive with roles. A hive is set by a group of users, their roles on the hive, storage tree, applications, agenda, widgets... Each participant to a hive, can log in the hive with her/his role, and use the applications the hive was created with. |
how to create a hive?
|
Click the JetBee Hive icon and create a group. Customize its background and define applications you want users to use in the frame of this workspace (and their position in the dock or quickstart). |
what is the difference between a hive webtop and my webtop?
|
Your personal workspace/webtop is at the same time your online weboffice and a "mah up" of all collaborative workspaces you are participating to. For instance, you can see all workspaces folders on your personal "Explorer" as well as all workspaces widgets on your webtop. When login in your collaborative workspace (hive) account, what you do from the action menu (upper right corner), you limit your weboffice to the context of the hive that was created for you by the hive's administrator. |
who can create a hive?
|
Everybody! But the free accounts only grants a 250 Mb storage for a hive. And they will be limited to 30 days. |
how to upgrade my account?
|
Ready to go? Select "Upgrade Plan" in the "Account Settings" menu or on anthil. |
can I add webservices to JetBee?
|
You can use the JetBee browser and add bookmarks to access other webservices. |
can I develop new applications and add them to JetBee?
|
Yes. You must use our JetBee Open solution and APIs to connect your Java/PHP applications to JetBee. Contact us. |
what is the jetbee browser intended to?
|
It is very convenient to remain in the same environment for most operations your activity requires. For instance, clicking on a feed in a RSS reader opens the JetBee Browser window without replacing your current webtop with a new webpage nor creating a new tab. |
how to add a bookmark to the JetBee Browser?
|
Click on the yellow star in the JetBee Browser's bar. Select the folder you want to add your bookmark to. Click "New". Fill in the fields. Click "Save". |
